Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Project in UAE Honored by Owner

On the morning of March 16, 2022, Senior Vice President of Abu Dhabi Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), Senior Vice President of TAQA Group and General Manager of Abu Dhabi Transmission and Dispatch Company (TRANSCO) visited the site of PV2 solar power plant in El Dhafra, UAE to celebrate the achievement of the key milestone of civil engineering, delivery and installation of the ESF 400KV switchyard and HV booster station together with the owner’s project company and CMEC.

Since July 2021, facing the new market and the strict requirements of TRANSCO’s global top standards, the project department of CMEC has overcome many difficulties, made efficient use of local resources, optimized the design and construction plan, and adopted a 7x24h working system to finally achieve the key project milestone of civil engineering, delivery and installation of the ESF 400KV switchyard and HV booster station, creating favorable conditions for the electrical installation and commissioning work.

EWEC, TAQA, TRANSCO and the owner's project company highly recognized the work of the project team and praised CMEC for setting the record of fastest civil engineering, delivery and installation of a 400KV-class substation in the UAE, and issued a certificate of appreciation to the project department. At the same time, nine employees of the project department received certificates of merit from the owner.
